"It is outstanding, and easy to use. The beauty of the program is that it can document so much better than we can ever dictate or write and all is included for review. The concept engine is brilliant and VERY easy to use."
"Another...which makes Praxis v3 the absolute best out there. From the hospital (or anywhere with internet) I can access my office Praxis program. I call up my Admitting Note assessment, pick a subgroup (suffix) and print the note to the hospital printer. If I had a fax modem set up and designated as a printer I could print to the fax modem at the office and have the pages faxed to me or anywhere I choose. I can use the internet connection with Praxis while doing the new visit... takes all of about 2 minutes to do this generally."
"It appears to me that the success of family medicine in the near future revolves around information management. I have been quite pleased that PRAXIS has taken the first step in creating a tool which allows me to actively blend current medical data into my active patient files. This allows me to become more aggressive in my work-ups. It helps me to avoid forgetting the details of treatments I learned six months ago. But is much more practical than template software which is awkward to reconfigure when there are subtle changes in patient presentation. It provides a way to annotate my treatments with literature references and is quite helpful in medico-legally supporting my treatment choices. If the success of medicine in the future revolves around information management. ... Praxis has taken the first step."
"I'm writing a short paper and presenting it to OHSU Rural Health faculty and students on Fri., 3/17. My paper is tentatively titled "Transforming Rural Primary Care: Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in Coos Bay, Oregon." I plan to review the literature on transitioning to EMR, and to focus on how it's going for Bay Clinic using Praxis."
"Praxis really makes it easier to see patients. It allows you to work more effectively and, actually, make better decisions."
"While several other systems provide for such things as accurate and legible recording of notes and prescriptions, it is the flexibility and theory behind PRAXIS that will, in the long run, provide the best legal protection for the practicing physician."
"I am fascinated with the idea of a Concept Processor, I thought I was very much against loading my own medical knowledge in the computer. I have since found that it is actually essential that you load your own information. It is fascinating to put a diagnosis down, watch it load, make a couple of adjustments, and all of a sudden the chart is done for that patient. As I sit here dictating this letter, I am still looking at the other (template) system sitting on my shelf."
"All my requirements were met with PRAXIS. PRAXIS will allow (us) more time to be doctors, instead of writers of medical paperwork who also see patients."
"Medical consultations on paper are obsolete, and thanks to Praxis, my practice of medicine no longer revolves around generating and interpreting paper-charts that I cannot query, cannot research, and cannot annotate as I please."
"From those whose "sound bites" have graced our ads and articles through the years.... "...PRAXIS will revolutionize Medical Records."
"When I first saw Praxis…I was happily surprised to see a system work a lot like I already practiced… We had a lot of technical problems with the other system we had been using, which can be a catastrophe for a paperless office!"
"You have created a revolutionary and inexpensive computer charting system that could become the universal standard. Anyone with a serious interest in practicing high quality medicine and an interest in computers needs to look at PRAXIS. There is nothing else that even comes close. It is the best system that I have found for medical practice note-keeping because it is far superior to any of the 'template' systems and has superb flexibility characteristics. I have recommended (PRAXIS) to many physicians. It is a program that any physician with a modicum of computer literacy would see as the answer to his practice needs. You are limited only by your imagination, intelligence and time as to what you can do with PRAXIS. When you get into PRAXIS you will love it. Using it is 'addictive'. When you realize how much you can do to generate a superb medical record and be reminded of all of the details that are so important to quality medical practice with speed and documentation for the snoopers, you will be glad you got involved."
“Praxis has improved the quality of medicine I practice while respecting the way I practice. It keeps my practice running more efficiently every day. I estimate small practices will make hundreds of thousands of dollars more if they use Praxis.”
"I have a chronic auto-immune disease and when it flares, I may be bedridden for days. This kept me totally disabled for a few years, but about two years ago, we opened a solo practice and are trying to keep things going. It has been tough and finances are not good -- if the only doctor is out sick one third of the year, money won't come into the practice as it should and must. Several weeks ago, I had a flare of this illness and was out for three weeks. About that time, the state Medicaid fund ran out and reimbursement stopped (that's about 35% of our income). If this had happened three in January 2004, we would have had to lay off our staff and close our practice. Why didn't we have to do that in late March? We had Praxis 3.0!"
"I see between 25 and 30 patients per day. I now enter about 75-80% of my notes using PRAXIS, and I do it between patients. My nurse informs me that it hasn't slowed me down, but I think it takes about 2-3 minutes to do a note, where before it would take 1-2 minutes. For 1 minute more time, I save about $3 for transcription costs. That's a great deal if you think about it. My quarterly costs for transcription were $2400. With PRAXIS, I see this cost going down to $500-$800."
