"The implementation process of PowerSchool Unified Talent Applicant Tracking was great. Our implementation specialist was very knowledgeable and went over all the various areas for set up. Once we were on our own, we felt Applicant Tracking was easy to navigate. The best thing is we are no longer searching for paper applications. Any principal, office, or interview committee has access to the information they need. An individual can be set up to receive email notifications when an application has been submitted. We can color code the applicants accordingly, on a personal level, to make our review clearer. References can be automatically sent and resumes, transcripts, reference letters, etc. can be uploaded. The hiring process is great, with approval coming to both the board secretary and me, Director of Human Resources. We both have the information we need for board approval and the applicant’s contact information. I feel it has made our jobs much easier. The program can easily be customized. I highly recommend this product. It’s very flexible and can be customized to our specifications. Once groups are set up with the processes each group needs, it is very helpful to our building principals."

"Before PowerSchool Unified Talent Absence Management, our clerical staff would go through a long list of available replacements and their list of qualifications before they would be able to call out a replacement. This was a very time-consuming process. With Absence Management, we have the system set up to match the replacement’s qualifications with the absent employee. For example, when a primary teacher is away, we are getting a replacement that is qualified to teach our Kindergarten students. The students benefit when a teacher with the same classification as the absent teacher walks in to teach their class. The replacement is happy because the system is calling them for assignments that they wish to teach. As well, with the ability to add a day plan when creating an absence, the replacement walks in fully prepared for the day."

This extension pulls our daily absences and demographic information and automatically calls parents when their student is absent from school. Parents have loved having this function. We also use this extension for announcements and school closing emergencies. If we were not able to pull this info from PowerSchool, our schools would not have the ability to openly communicate with the parents. This is a lifesaver on the crisis management side."

"We use PowerSchool Registration for our annual student updates, applications for inter- and intra-district transfers, Katy Virtual Schools enrollment, Katy Summer Academic Term enrollment, and new student registration. Future use will include our Career and Technology center applications. Our district uses tags, which are alerts to better prepare the campus register for each student’s individual situation. This includes new students that register for Katy ISD and indicate their home language is one other than English, the system automatically flags the student and applies an alert to the student’s record. Therefore we can prepare and provide ELL testing prior to the student enrolling.​"
