"We found out about Hi5, we liked the concept and we thought it's a nice way to create a recognition platform. Everybody loves recognition and that was something that was lacking in our business. One of our biggest points in terms of our pulse survey was that recognition was lacking, so we decided to give Hi5 a shot! "What do I like about Hi5? Everything! I really enjoy Hi5, I think it's a good platform. It offers good recognition for staff; for everybody to see what we are doing. Especially in the HR space where support functions don't really get recognised much. It's good for us to recognise each other. "What I enjoy is that it builds morale - it makes it an exciting place to be and platform to be part of! [The staff] get to give recognition to each other on a platform where everybody can see, instead of just a by-the-way 'you did well.' "It gives an opportunity for us, especially in a big area (we're about 30 HR staff members and we operate in different areas - we've got recruitment, training, support & specialists for example). We're able to see what the other areas are doing and give recognition for hard work and acknowledgement from everyone else. "So, I think [the staff] enjoy that and they also enjoy being acknowledged, and the fact that somebody took note of something they did."
"So, M&C Saatchi Abel is a marketing communications advertising agency group. We’ve got a number of agencies within our stable and probably up to 200+ employees across the different companies in the group. "What I particularly love about Hi5, especially in my role - from the back end, setting up the systems and managing it - [is that] in the past it has been a heavily administrative paper nightmare and a mountain of work. So, certainly if you look at just streamlining those efficiencies it’s cut down our time in the back end to set up, manage, help & equip our people to do this, probably by weeks if not a month, to consolidate and simplify that process. "[Hi5 has made it] a lot easier! And I think certainly for our people it’s a very easy platform, user-friendly, intuitive. It’s very easy to get it kick-started in a couple of weeks or a month later to get all the data consolidated to give really rich insights & data that we can use to better understand our own people. "[What I love about Hi5 is] I think absolutely the Hi5 feature in terms of recognising peers and our people and what they do every day. If you can’t rely on managers to spot who’s working every weekend, who’s done what and actively encourage all of our staff every single day... whether it be a small gesture on an e-mail that says 'Thank you!' or the public wall on Hi5 that says 'this person deserves a shout-out' and why don’t other people back that. "It’s an active thing, so people can engage with it every single day as opposed to evaluation of the feedback on a quarterly or bi-yearly basis.”
