"I love this job. I love animals. I like breeding animals. It's almost a thrill to see what you can get because of all the color differences that you can hatch out. I like the customers. We love our employees; they're like family to us. My family's here, so I get to see them every day. The day that I don't want to come to work anymore it's time to retire, but I think I'm here for a long time."
"It's been an incredible journey to see a company grow from just the seedling of passion and idea and excitement, and actually see that start to translate into product and distribution and sales."
"We purchase everything from our manufacturer partners in truckloads. We have customers from Rapid City to Green Bay. In order to provide next day service to such a vast area we use a network of LTL carriers that we match up to the customer to provide the level of service we’re known for."
"Just four years ago, we were inside a single-car garage. We moved from single to a three-car garage, and now we're in a massive facility. What we build isn't something you see on the road every day. We start it from the ground up where other companies just get a car brand new and that's it, it's yours. We get the chassis and get the axles and rebuild them. Everything's all new inside and there's nothing reused. New engines, new drivetrains, new axles, all-new seating, new carpeting - everything is new inside of it."
"Every car is torn down to the chassis and then fully rebuilt, so there's no nut and bolt that's left untouched. It was just a really small operation of bringing in classic Land Rovers from the UK and selling them. And that seemed to quickly grow into a big custom operation where we were importing a lot more Defenders, a lot of parts, and building some really custom one-off Land Rover Defenders."
"People say, 'I've got a Ferrari," and they're like, 'Oh, a Ferrari'. But it's the same as the other Ferraris. So our truck - there aren't two alike. What we're doing is, it's a bit like if this was the conception of a child. You're saying, 'What sex do you want it to be. What color eyes do you want it to have. What DNA do you want it to show. How do you want it to behave' And then we build it for you. Where else. There isn't another manufacturer in the world that can do that."
"We just kept having delivery problems. Back in the day we were aiming for September 1, but we were not getting anything out the door until the middle of October."
"We had no way of keeping track of our suppliers, our vendors for various products. All the products moving around were kind of a mystery. It wasn't possible without some sort of inventory management software."
"We opened the floodgates for everyone to get invovled with Fishbowl. A lot of different people, a lot of different hands in there. And we gave people the power in their own departments to manage their own inventory and kind of broke the shop up into bits and pieces."
"The biggest part of Fishbowl, for me, is managing my promotional fleet of bindings, which we use for marketing purposes. I'm always tracking where my bindings are, how many bindings I have left. Fishbowl's a way for me to track my inventory in real-time."
"Personally, I was on the sales order side of things. But when you really dig into all the integrations and some of the modules there's just a lot of stuff that you can do. It connects with QuickBooks and it connects with Magento and it connects with all these other software systems that we're using."
"In my job, what I'm using Fishbowl for is the shipping side of things. So I'm going into sales orders and picking and packing the orders, fulfilling the orders, and then shipping them through Fishbowl. Fishbowl's more efficient than what I've used in the past – definitely less steps and less paperwork, which I think is good for the company and the environment."
"On the day to day, I use multiple modules of Fishbowl pretty regularly, so the Bill of Materials, Manufacturing module and Manufacture Order module. You have accessibility between certain modules that makes our job a lot easier and more efficient. There's really no other program that would allow me to do what I can do. I've never even really thought of Fishbowl as a time-saving tool; I've thought of it more as a necessary tool that we need to have in place in order to keep track of day-to-day operations."
"For me, it's always about the product. The reason why I started this company is I had a passion about the product. In the product, the detail needs to be there — the embellishments, the features. And it all needs to make sense, from the packaging to the conception of the product to the final piece, I mean to the box that goes out the door. That's all very, very important. As long as the product is there, everything else falls into place."
"I do a lot of the accounting — accounts payable, accounts receivable. I facilitate payroll to a payroll service. I used to pull a huge sack of paper out every month and sort through it and go through and sort through each individual sales rep, then go ahead and formulate that data, hand type it into an Excel spreadsheet. That was all hand done and hand typed. When you can get into Fishbowl and basically classify the data once, have it set up as you're entering the order and then print a report, that's pretty telltale right there in itself."
