“Walker Brands has helped the Henry B. Plant Museum for more than 17 years. When we initially retained Walker it was to create a brand identity and standards for our collateral, which had become fragmented and lacked a professional look. Walker’s solution elevated our presentation and helped us earn a Gold Award from the Southeastern Museum Conference. More recently, reduction in funding sources and an increase in competition caused us to revisit the effectiveness of our positioning. As Tampa’s oldest museum, both our image and our message needed to be refreshed. The Plant Museum had become predictable. Nancy Walker and her team met several times with our board members and professional staff and came up with a vision for our future. The ideas were perhaps out of our comfort zone initially, but we soon realized that we had been in a bit of a rut. Walker suggested several new concepts, which we implemented right away and a new chapter began. Walker made us realize that it was important to give our visitors the same experiences that Tampa Bay Hotel guests enjoyed. In other words, we needed to be authentic. The Signature Series was created and with it a new event – The Great Gatsby Party. It has become one of the most successful programs in our history, and it reflects exactly what the early Florida tourist experienced at the Tampa Bay Hotel. These ideas brought color to our brand and excitement that had been missing. Walker created a new look and feel for this museum that brought excitement, freshness and a new spirit to this 80-year-old institution. We’ve gone from sepia to full color in every sense of those words. The Plant Museum is no longer stuck in the past. We have Walker Brands to thank for that.”
