“We took the opportunity to switch providers 2 years ago during a tender process which meant that we relinquished a long-standing relationship with established agency. It was a decision that I’m happy to say was the correct one. We regularly have between 10 – 20 temps on site every day in Telford throughout the year with Ethero acting as our exclusive agency staff provider. They provide us with all the MI information as requested which is bespoke to our operation and are quick to react to any requests that we have made upon them. This has meant that on 2 or 3 occasions we have made very short notice requests from temp staff (10+) due to the failure of equipment or systems and they have been able to respond as required by the business. They have also supported us ensuring compliance with the ever-changing legislation with regards to the employment of agency staff. ethero took time to understand our operation by placing their staff in our warehouse on training days and this, alongside the pre-employment tours and the video induction they have created, has helped to ensure that they provide us with staff suitable for our operation. The quality of the staff has meant that we utilise our pool of agency workers for all permanent recruitment of warehouse operators on site and we no longer operate recruitment of staff in house for this reason. It is critical that we get the right people provided to us due to the length of time it takes to train pickers within our operation and ethero has been strong in this regard. Of course, we have had issues from time to time as is to be expected when you are dealing with agency workers. But when issues have occurred and ethero have been aware they’ve been rectified quickly. The biggest compliment I can pay is the attention and care that is taken by Gareth and his team in dealing with us at a level I would expect if we were putting a substantial amount more business their way.
