"With V-locity, we have delayed investment in additional hardware. We've virtualized servers that used to run on dedicated storage, and now we're using our resources much more efficiently."
“We have been using Diskeeper for a while now, so we now receive few service calls related to fragmented disks; using Diskeeper has helped to keep such calls to a minimum. “Our intention with Diskeeper is to keep disk fragmentation at a reasonable level and Diskeeper does that; this activity reduces the instances of problems with disks that are nearly full or very heavily fragmented. We have approximately 75 Dell Latitude E4200 laptops with SSDs. We distribute Diskeeper with HyperFast to systems by including Diskeeper in the Ghost images we use when we set up a new computer."
“I forgot [V-locity] was running in the background working its magic. It has such a low footprint, I didn’t notice. We had one server show a 40% I/O response time improvement, with 65% IOPS improvement. This came to be the new normal. On one server I had 91% of fragments prevented or eliminated! That saves me from running a defrag after hours that would take a lot of time, and cause tremendous I/O overhead."
“This system runs the software that routes all our trucks and outbound scheduling. With the Diskeeper Administrator I can see which computers are not performing at their best and the status and health of the hard drive. It also made installation quick and easy with the software push and upgrade ability.”
"We have seen performance improvements of 522% on our SAP Crystal Server, 190% on the MIS student enrollment application, and an 85% improvement on our Exchange Server."
“I love the Diskeeper Server product and the fact that you support the 64bit Itanium Operating System is a huge benefit to us. These systems are very critical and the fragmentation prior to using Diskeeper was really hurting performance. The drives were at about 90% fragmentation and with Automatic defrag enabled they stay around 3-5%. That feature alone makes the product worthwhile.”
“We use Diskeeper EnterpriseServer specifically for the Instant Defrag on Windows servers that have files added and deleted throughout the day. We had performance issues on these servers, because of the fragmentation problems. Those issues have now gone away. We had an application that was slowing down over time. The event viewer was complaining about severe fragmentation on the drive. We took an outage and ran standalone Diskeeper on the drive. The performance was immediately improved. The product works as expected and keeps the drives defragged throughout the day."
“The biggest reason for our widespread Diskeeper deployment is for database applications such as Sybase SQL, Microsoft SQL, and Exchange Server, where high numbers of minute transactions cause extensive disk fragmentation over time. Because of the limited defrag automation options in Windows and restriction of defrag utilities only to network administrators, we had a legitimate need for an intelligent defrag solution such as yours. I’ve seen a 20%+ gain in performance, which users are happy to take advantage of."
“One of the things I learned years ago in a database tuning class was the two easiest things to do to improve performance and efficiency are reorganization/runstats and keeping the disks defragmented. The reasoning is that when the database gets data off of the disk, it doesn't just grab one or two records, it reads in a block of data. If that block of data is fragmented, then it takes more reads to get the entire data block into the database buffers (memory). I equate that with less energy used for repositioning the drive heads for searching and finding all of the data fragments to complete the data block.”
“We are running Diskeeper on our Distributed File System server which houses all corporate documents. This server has 500GB of files and was heavily fragmented prior to installing Diskeeper. Users were experiencing latency issues, login delays (roaming profiles) and apps would freeze upon saving to that server. After running Diskeeper there was major performance improvement."
“We have used Diskeeper on our own laptops and server since starting the company. I used to rely on the Windows built-in defrag tool or a freeware option for clients and PC’s but realized that Diskeeper offers a much better solution. We have fewer alerts on the servers with Diskeeper installed. We consistently see big improvement in backup times after we clean up file servers with Diskeeper. Our company’s policy is to include Diskeeper in our managed service offering on servers and strongly recommend it, especially for high priority workstations. Best of all, we enable IntelliWrite for a true “Set It and Forget It” solution.”
"We are a large school with nearly one terabyte of data accessed daily, and one-third of that is revised or newly-created. As a network admin, access times and increased throughput are critical to my day-to-day. When my users say, ‘the network seems to be working better,’ I know V-locity is really doing the job.”
“Story to tell? Oh yes. Our entire commissions database was saved by the Undelete program. Very happy about that. We would have lost a week of commissions (over 2000 records easily). We were very grateful that we had your product.”
"Anytime an organization starts talking about VDI, the immediate concern in the IT shop is how well we will be able to support it from a performance standpoint to ensure a pristine end user experience. Although supported by EMC VNXe flash storage with high IOPS, one of our primary concerns had to do with Windows write inefficiencies that chews up a large percentage of flash IOPS unnecessarily. When you’re rolling out a VDI initiative, the one thing you can’t afford to waste is IOPS."
“I ran V-locity in my test environment. The Benefit Analyzer showed a 117% performance improvement. With V-locity on board, I just don’t worry about performance.”
