“By leveraging the advanced diagnostic capabilities of the Energy Valve, we’ve been able to effi ciently and cost-effectively meet cooling demands across the campus by understanding the exact chilled water supply needs of each individual air handler. In addition to curing the campus’s low Delta T problem, the valve has helped us brainstorm the creation of an ‘on demand’ chilled water control system, which has the potential to reduce chiller plant operation by hundreds of hours each cooling season and subsequently cut Hillsdale’s overall energy consumption. This past cooling season some months saw electricity consumption reduced by as much as 16% from the same month the previous year. These valves, and the control points they provide, could play an integral role in the College’s ability to keep our electricity costs at a minimal level moving forward.”
