"Paymob’s digital solution is a pillar in Nestle Egypt’s groundbreaking recycling initiative, allowing it to incentivize over 1,000 actors in Cairo’s informal waste sector to recover more plastic from our city’s waste. The solution allows the monitoring and verification of quantities being recovered, as well as directly imbursing each actor for their efforts each month through mobile payments. So far in 2020, this has helped channel over 8,000 tonnes of plastic towards recycling, diverting it away from our streets and waterways, thus keeping our environment clean, while also improving the livelihoods of those on the frontline of this truly global challenge."
