  • How technical do users need to be to use NextGen Healthcare's software?

The design of NextGen Healthcare is to deliver as much information as possible without having multiple clicks or maneuvers to find data. From the Workflow module, providers have access via hover buttons which show face sheet data like Allergies, Diagnoses, Problems, Alerts, and Medications without having to leave the screen. From a single click, providers can also navigate to prior Progress Notes, Images, Lab Results, etc. that are housed in easy-to-find categories. This similar information is quickly available from other sections of the system as well, for instance when signing off on lab results or other communications.

  • How/why is NextGen Healthcare better than those competitors (or most others in their market)? What about NextGen Healthcare is unique, stronger, easier, etc.?

Interoperability and connectivity are two ways among many that NextGen is set apart from our competitors. NextGen has been identified by independent research organization KLAS to be the easiest ambulatory system with respect to interoperability. This has highlighted the multiple ways to share information outside of the NextGen Healthcare platform from the NextGen Mobile application, Direct Messaging with outside organizations (ie: Hospitals, HIEs, practices, etc.) using CCDAs via NextGen Share, e-Faxing, and through direct interfaces. Sharing data outside of NextGen has become a major strength of the platform. Additionally, NextGen Healthcare is the first EHR developer to certify a complete EHR solution to the 2015 Edition Cures Update criteria. NextGen Enterprise EHR achieved the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC-Health IT) 2015 Edition Cures Update Health IT certification via Drummond Group LLC, an Authorized Certification Body (ACB).
