MRB Public Relations was founded in 1992 as a media research company designed to assist leading business and trade publications in story development. MRB worked with media outlets at McGraw Hill, Penton, Ziff Davis, CMP and others to plan the upcoming segments of various publications. They would join editorial meetings to discuss topics and assignments. MRB would research topics of the stories planned and prepare research packages that were presented to the assigned writers. Their research provided these writers with the information needed to craft their story (sources, analyst information, compiled research/data, story ideas, previous coverage, and information resources). It would also help publications develop coverage that was different than competing publications.
