How technical do users need to be to use the software?
Kira is a fairly straightforward web app experience that requires very little technical knowledge. Furthermore, each Kira client has a dedicated Client Success Manager to onboard them, set up the technical side of their school's assessment, and help with any challenges they may have.
What makes Kira Talent a leader in this space?
Kira Talent is a leader in this space because our product is built for higher education. We are not a CRM, nor are we a 'video interviewing platform,' we are an assessment solution that helps schools evaluate traits and skills alongside grades, test scores, and essays. Schools have a completely branded experience and can play a 'welcome' video as an extended marketing opportunity to show off unique elements of their school or program. Applicants can upload documents, like essays or resumes, and try unlimited 'practice questions' to get comfortable using timed video and timed written assessments.
Once an applicant has submitted their Kira assessment, multiple reviewers can assess them based on built-in rubrics to contribute to an overall 'average rating.' Schools can then see 'reviewer analytics' to find out if any members of their team are marking easier or harder than their colleagues.
All of these unique features are designed to ensure applicants can put their best foot forward during the admissions season.
Who are your biggest competitors (3-5 companies)?
Currently, there are no competitors in our space that offer the same suite of admissions-specific features for developing a holistic assessment that we do. As far as on-demand video interviews in and of themselves, HireVue, InterviewStream, and VidCruiter are names we hear come up.
How/why is Kira Talent better than those competitors (or most others in their market)? What about it is unique, stronger, easier, etc.?
Because Kira is designed for college admissions, the entire experience is built with applicants and schools in mind. Many of the features that are unique to Kira are built specifically based on the needs of admissions teams we're currently working with. We offer 24/7 applicant support and exceptional client success support from onboarding through to the completion of each cycle. We'll continue listening to the market to develop a product that can help schools conduct scalable, effective skills assessments for their applicants.
What kind of features can customers expect to see in the near future? And longer term?
We'll continue to develop additional features that help support efficient, effective, and fair assessments for applicants and admissions teams. We're currently working to expand our practice prep material for applicants, to ensure they're able to feel ready for their assessment without spending thousands of dollars on expensive consulting services. As well, we're investigating opportunities to use machine-learning to augment the admissions decision-making process.
Which popular or common software does your product integrate with?
We integrate with most leading CRMs or applicant tracking systems (Salesforce, Liaison, and EnrollmentRX, to name a few) as well as homegrown systems at institutions around the world. Kira also can operate as a standalone tool if a CRM is not present.
Software pricing can often be complex. If it's pretty straightforward, list tiers, pricing (per year, seat, etc), limits, etc. If it's not simple, use broad estimates or ranges for typical setups.
Pricing is customized based on the needs of the school and factors such as the number of applicants, the number of unique programs using Kira, and videography needs. Typical use cases can range from $10,000 to $30,000.
Is there a trial or free download available?
There's no trial or free download because each Kira assessment is so customized to the unique program. We do, however, offer a free, customized demo built around your program's needs.
What kind of training/education is offered?
Client Success is included in every new contract, which includes consultative onboarding, complete product set-up and training, and an end-of-year Inspire Report where we discuss your experience and highlight usage details, applicant data, reviewer and support metrics.
Our rigorous, consultative onboarding process is designed to ensure every aspect of your Kira assessment suits your program. We’ll work together to discover the core competencies (qualities or soft skills) of your program’s most successful graduates, create questions that uncover those skills in applicants, and develop rubrics that evaluate them. Once onboarding is complete, your Success Manager will set up your unique assessment and provide complete training to you and your team on how to use the product.
Describe the implementation process and timeline.
We'll work with you to implement Kira. We recommend a minimum of 2 months to deploy, which includes the collaborative process of creating assessment criteria, choosing competencies, writing questions, building rubrics, and any training. Depending on internal resources and capacity around cross-functional elements like videography and integrations, some schools may require more time for this and some may require less.
