IDU is a financial planning and analysis (FP&A) platform designed for enterprise use, founded in 1997 and based in Cape Town, South Africa. The software covers budgeting and planning, forecasting, capex planning, cash flow planning, workforce planning, project planning, scenario modelling, consolidations, fixed asset management, and S&OP planning and reporting. Analytics and dashboard tools allow users to drill from group-level summaries down to general ledger transactions.

The platform is designed to serve both finance teams and operational managers, giving department heads direct access to budget, forecast, and actual data without requiring finance to produce and distribute reports manually. IDU connects to ERP and GL source systems and supports multi-entity and multi-currency consolidations with automated intercompany eliminations and audit trails. IDU includes two embedded AI agents: a Help Agent that provides in-workflow guidance, and an Insight Agent that generates narrative commentary on variances, trends, and anomalies within reports.
