The HBS roots date back to 1990, providing packaging labels to the grocery industry through then owner created Alferi Communications. In 1992, the two companies merged and moved to the present location in Little Chute, WI. With the labeling division as the workhorse, the demand for the company’s technology expertise continued to grow and expand. That led to the creation of Heartland Business Systems. In 2004, the company added its third division, Avastone Technologies, which is focused on custom programming, website development, business intelligence, and mobile development.
