"It seems obvious to everyone who has suffered at the hands of "Cancel Culture" that the ideal solution is self-hosted FOSS, but that is no easy burden for small and already overworked organizations. Our greatest obstacle to achieving digital sovereignty was the burden of building and administering these complex systems. We did our best by trying to find friendly SAS offerings, but inevitably those were riddled with scandals, changed owners, bent the knee, etc. Federated allowed us to finally take this plunge, not just on a few of our systems, but on every tool or SAS we were using, including critical infrastructure, such as our donations/CRM platform.
