DevExpress is now a dominant force in the VCL market and wins Delphi Informant's Best VCL Component awards four years in a row. At the start of the decade, they turn their attention to the Microsoft developer community, becoming the first vendor to ship a .NET UI Control Library. This first control – the XtraGrid – is now at the heart of the unparalleled UI control suite for .NET WinForms – and even now no one comes close to the power and feature set of DevExpress WinForms Subscription. We also set the tone for third-party UI suites by releasing the full source code as part of the subscription.

  • "They say that time is money, but when you do development for charities - on your own time - time is, well, time. But pro-bono development gives me a chance to try out advanced language features and techniques that are not "approved yet" at work. Grunt work coding is not part of that creative learning experience. That's why I really appreciate DevExpress and their IDE tools and Windows Forms controls. I started using Refactor! for Visual Basic a year or so ago while developing PHP code generator applications, Refactor! shaved off hours of no-mind typing of property accessors. It made my time developing fun again. I love to write code, but I adhere to the programmer's mantra: "machines should work, people should think". I admit that I have spent more time developing a tool to do a job than to do the job itself. The CodeRush templates are the kind of tools that I would develop for myself (if I could ever get around to it). I've been using Refactor! Pro for a while now, and now I spend much more time developing new code, and new features and much less time typing select statements, renaming variables, and the other drudge work of coding. The "enum to select" function is amazing as is the dynamic rename in templates. There is an modest learning curve for the IDE products. You start using some of the features right away and then add more to your repertoire as you go along. I am still finding new and cool refactorings, shortcuts and templates after using Refactor! Pro and CodeRush for months. The components just work. They are fast, good looking and loaded with terrific features. More importantly, I have used components from other companies but DevExpress beats them all for support I especially like the on-line video tutorials, this is an active product and the animations are key to really being able to use their tools. The XtraWizard control is amazing. Wizard interfaces are tedious to write and debug. XtraWizard makes coding windows-like wizards as easy as using a wizard!"
