Agave Lab is a company-builder that invests seed capital in new, Mexican startups. Their model is unique: They begin by targeting traditional sectors in Mexico and Latin America that are underutilizing technology and are ready for disruption and rapid adoption. They work with business leaders in these sectors to identify areas of real-world problems. Then, they find entrepreneurs to innovate within the limits of these problem areas. They invest only after business leaders agree to be clients, board members, future investors and/or potential acquirers. They developed the initial product using the internal Agave Lab team while providing aggressive, daily, and practical mentoring and training to the founders.
